Overview

2022 was our first year harvesting mature Triumph! Triumph was intended as a higher-alpha aroma variety to complement other American alternatives to classic Noble hop varieties from Europe. It’s a perfect complement to lagers, pale ales, and a lot of other lighter styles. Since it was bred from a range of Noble hops, it’s no surprise that Triumph strikes familiar notes from other lager hops but is a lot more fruit forward. It’s the perfect hop for a dry hopped lager!

All hops are grown, harvested, dried, pelleted, packaged and sold by Champlain Valley Hops in Starksboro, VT. Please contact us if you have any questions.

2022 was our first harvest of mature Vermont Triumph! We get notes of kiwi and persimmon along with some woody notes that are typical of noble bops.

Triumph Hop History

Triumph is the most recent release by the USDA’s public hop breeding program. After being in development for nearly two decades, it was finally released in 2019. We’re excited to be growing Triumph in Vermont!

Triumph has a varied, classic heritage: East Kent Golding, Hallertau Mittelfruh, Nugget, and Brewers Gold are all predecessors of Triumph. This is a Noble hop through and through, only bred to grow in America rather than Europe.
